+ ALL FAQS
On safari your accommodation in the Kruger National Park is in family style chalets or bungalows inside the Kruger National Park. We prefer to stay in the central areas, such as Skukuza, Satara etc. Game viewing is at it best in these areas. Around here the vegetation is most suitable for large herds of grazers and browsers. This in turn attracts lion and other predators. Hence this is known to the locals as "lion country".
Although there are other accommodation options outside of the Kruger National Park, we prefer not to use these, since it is then necessary to enter each day as a day visitor wasting precious game viewing time commuting to and fro. The guest to the Kruger National Park is also then denied the exciting and exhilarating opportunity of spending the night inside this National Park.

How do I decide which lodge is right for me?
We work with a large number of excellent lodges, and will always recommend a lodge where we know you will get superb food, excellent service, fantastic game viewing and value for your money. We have personally visited each of the game lodges we work with, and the best is to contact us and let us know what is important to you. The factors that may influence your decision include your budget, the type of accommodation, game viewing opportunities, the style of hosting and atmosphere at the lodge, etc. For a honeymoon couple we may recommend a different lodge than for a family with children, for example. With so many options to choose from, you can relax with the knowledge that we will give you honest and expert advice about all the different options, and will never recommend a sub-standard lodge for your safari. We work hard to find you the best destination at the best possible price.
Do you use an open vehicle?
Yes, all game drives are conducted on a specially designed open safari vehicle with valid permit. Transfers from Johannesburg are done with a luxury air-conditioned vehicle, and at the entrance gate to the game reserve we switch over to the open safari vehicle.

Is it possible to fly directly from the Kruger National Park to Cape Town?
You can fly directly between Cape Town and the Kruger Park (Nelspruit) with SAA or SA Express. Another easy way to get from Cape Town to the Kruger Park is to fly to KMIA and request that we pick you up from there. It is also possible to fly directly between the Kruger Park and OR TAMBO on certain days of the week.
On the Kruger National Park 4 day safari, as an optional extra, it is possible to enjoy a bush walk in the Kruger National Park. With your trained ranger, you will be introduced to the natural environment close up. On this 3 hour adventure, you'll have an in-depth experience getting to know the African bush, track the spoor of game, and explore the bush on foot.
From an open vehicle, you will have the opportunity to watch the night life by spotlight. A hyena creeping away into the shadows, cats seldom seen during the day, and other game are regularly spotted on these night drives.

The Kruger National Park falls in a malaria area. You should be aware of the risk and take anti-malaria medication before and during your trip, but do not let the risk of malaria stop you from enjoying your safari! Over a million visitors come to the Kruger National Park every year, and very few cases of malaria are reported. All accommodations are fitted with insect screens and fans or air-conditioning.
Should an infected anopheles mosquito bite a person, the malaria bug would be transferred. This mosquito emerges at around 4 or 5 pm in the evenings.
Besides taking any medication, it is best to avoid being bitten at all. Hints to avoid being bitten by the anopheles mosquito
· from twilight, apply a mosquito repellent to exposed body areas,
· wear long trousers covering the ankles, as well as socks and covered shoes
· at night, close all doors and windows, mosquito netting over the doors and windows allows for a supply of fresh air
